CHANGES
AT PRIMAL PARENTING MAGAZINE
Primal Parenting Magazine, originally founded as
a print quarterly in 2007, is changing format and will now be available
only online. This has been an incredibly difficult decision for
us. However, due to the overwhelming financial challenges of the
present economy, we are unable to continue our print format in 2008.
Rising energy costs that affect printing and distribution, personnel
changes, and the impact of an economic downturn on our advertisers
and investors have combined to create the perfect (unfortunate)
economic storm for us.
Now on to the good news…
Primal Parenting Magazine will live on! We believe wholeheartedly
in our mission to promote holistic parenting, and are certain that
we can be successful as we ride out this tough economy and await
better days and national/global economic recovery. With this in
mind, we are creating a web-based magazine for 2008 and plan to
return to print in 2009. Our website will soon be converted into
an online community and resource for parents seeking information
on cultivating happy, healthy families. We will be posting new feature
articles weekly, focusing on each of our five departments: healthy
diet, alternative healthcare, natural parenting, sustainable living,
and education alternatives.
Additionally, our regular columnists will continue on as bloggers
on our new site. We’re even planning on adding several new columns
not previously seen in our print magazine. This will offer a chance
for readers to interact with our writers and with each other. Look
for the launch of our new site in the coming weeks.
New subscriptions will be suspended until we return to print in
2009. Current subscribers were sent notification of these changes
and were given a choice of a subscription with an alternate publication
or a full refund.
Despite appearances, this is actually a very exciting time for us
as interest in our project is rapidly growing. We are exploring
opportunities to partner with organizations that support and promote
our philosophy as our collective voice amplifies our mission. We
are dedicated to maintaining our journalistic integrity and providing
you with interesting, engaging, and thought-provoking editorial.
We thank you all-our readers, writers, staff, family and friends-for
your patience, understanding, and continued support as we transition
to our new format.
With optimism and gratitude,
